11 Apr 2022. National Advisory Council Meeting
On Saturday the 9th of April, during our National Advisory Council meeting, we discussed among other issues the strategies on how the welfare of our members is observed and protected across different counties and with The Ministry of Health. We also organized a press statement on the implications of the Health Budget Allocation for FY 2022-2023.
Budgetary allocation is the single most important aspect that shows intent government to improve a weak healthcare system!
The Abuja declaration states that 15% of the government’s total budget should goes to health. We have a decrease from 6% (2021/22) to 4.4% (2022/23) which is a reason for human resource issues with healthcare workers.
We will not allow the continued mistreatment of healthcare workers!
