From the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the North Rift Branch, we have collectively reiterated a crucial principle: negotiations are not confined to boardrooms. This meeting underscored our unwavering commitment to pursuing all constitutionally outlined avenues to achieve fairness and justice in healthcare.
When every other approach has been exhausted, we reaffirm our right to withhold our skills and explore alternative measures for negotiations. This stance aligns with the provisions of the constitution and has been recently upheld by the industrial court in Eldoret.
The government has been given until 30th November 2024 to engage in meaningful negotiations with us in the boardrooms. Failure to do so will leave us no choice but to take further action.
Key Issues Raised:
Interns: Addressing their challenges and securing their rightful place in the healthcare system.
CBA Arrears: Ensuring long-overdue collective bargaining agreement arrears are settled promptly.
Healthcare: Advocating for a sustainable healthcare system that prioritizes quality and fairness for all.
Our commitment remains firm: to champion the rights of healthcare workers while pushing for systemic improvements that benefit every Kenyan.
