FAC Strengthens KMPDU Branches: Financial Training for Treasurers & Secretariat

NAIROBI: Oct 1, 2025

KMPDU recently hosted a full-day FAC | Branch Treasurers & Secretariat Training at our National Offices, bringing together union officers from across the country for a day of learning, collaboration, and capacity building.

The sessions focused on financial analysis, management accounting, and planning practices, essential tools to ensure transparency, integrity, and accountability within our union. Facilitators guided participants through hands-on exercises, sharpening their skills in budgeting, reporting, and administrative planning, with practical examples drawn from real branch operations.

At KMPDU, we recognize that financial literacy is more than just numbers. Every coin contributed by doctors is a reflection of their sacrifice, trust, and commitment to strengthening the union. If we cannot track budgets, question suspicious entries, or interpret financial statements, resources leak and bargaining power weakens. This training ensures our treasurers and secretariat members are fully equipped to protect members’ contributions while building strong, financially resilient branches.

The day was also an opportunity to share experiences, discuss challenges, and strengthen collaboration across branches. Participants left with practical skills, renewed confidence, and a clear understanding that solid financial management underpins union strength.

As we continue to grow and defend doctors’ rights nationwide, KMPDU remains committed to empowering our officers, ensuring that every branch operates with transparency, accountability, and strategic foresight.
