A section of unions representing healthcare workers want universal health care which was part of the Kenya Kwanza manifesto to be included in the bipartisan talks. Led by the Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists and Dentists union and the Kenya Union of clinical officers, they decried the state of healthcare in the country which they said had deteriorated. They are now calling on the ministry of health to address the shortage of health workforce as promised in the Kenya Kwanza manifesto to improve health service delivery in the country. The unions say they will petition the ministry to absorb more health care workers.
