Doctors in Kakamega County held a town hall meeting with Branch Executive Committee (BEC) members at the Kakamega County Referral Hospital CME Hall. The engagement aimed to foster dialogue between doctors and their union leadership regarding ongoing strike concerns and to strengthen unity among members.
During the meeting, members outlined key demands to the County Government. These included delayed promotions, lack of comprehensive health insurance, and the urgent need for recruitment of additional healthcare workers. Doctors expressed frustration over unaddressed issues that continue to affect morale and service delivery.
The BEC reaffirmed its commitment to championing the doctors’ rights and conveyed solidarity with all members across the county. The meeting concluded with a call for the County Government to urgently engage with the union and address the outlined demands to avert further escalation.
