KMPDU Coast Branch AGM: Zero Tolerance for CBA Violations in Kwale, Lamu, and Tana River

May 04, 2025

The Coast Branch Annual General Meeting has sounded a clear warning: doctors in Kwale, Lamu, and Tana River will no longer tolerate continued CBA violations. From stalled promotions to lack of medical cover, failure to implement salary harmonization, and delays in transitioning to permanent and pensionable terms, the counties have ignored their obligations long enough. Legal action and industrial action are now imminent.

Mobilization is already underway. The union is rolling out town hall meetings, digital advocacy, and facility-level outreach across the three counties by the end of May. These efforts are designed to build momentum and ensure that every doctor, and every citizen relying on a broken system, understands what is at stake. Despite obstruction and delay, doctors across the Coast region remain united and unshaken. The message is simple: implement the CBA or face the consequences.

As the Annual Delegates Conference draws near, all counties are officially on notice. There will be no retreat, no compromise, and no silence until doctors’ rights are respected, and full CBA compliance is achieved. The union will pursue justice with every tool available, in the courts, in the streets, and in every hospital corridor.
