KMPDU NEC 4th Quarter Meeting

KMPDU National Executive Council Holds Fourth Quarter Meeting to Set Priorities for 2026–2031 Term

NAIVASHA: Oct 16, 2026

The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) today held its Fourth Quarter National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, bringing together union officials representing branches across the country to review the Union’s progress, address pending matters and set priorities for the 2026–2031 leadership term.

The meeting follows the April 2026 elections that ushered in the current leadership for a five-year mandate. It provided an opportunity for the NEC to assess the state of the Union, review branch and national reports, reflect on progress made and identify key areas requiring continued attention.

Reviewing Progress and Addressing Pending Matters

The NEC meeting provided a platform for representatives from across the country to deliberate on matters affecting the Union and its members. Through the review of branch and national reports, the Council assessed ongoing work, considered outstanding issues and reflected on the priorities that will guide the Union’s activities in the coming period.

The engagement underscores the importance of coordination between the national leadership and branches in ensuring that members’ concerns are represented and addressed through collective decision-making.

A Five-Year Mandate Focused on Delivery

As the Union begins its 2026–2031 mandate, the leadership has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening KMPDU as an effective and accountable representative of doctors across Kenya.

Key priorities remain protecting doctors’ rights and welfare, advancing members’ professional interests, strengthening the Union’s institutional capacity and ensuring that leadership decisions translate into tangible outcomes for members.

Delivering on these priorities will require unity, accountability, sustained engagement and decisive action at both national and branch levels.

Collective Leadership and Accountability

The responsibility before the NEC is to ensure that the Union remains focused on its mandate and responsive to the needs of doctors. Collective leadership and accountability will be central to guiding the Union’s work, addressing outstanding concerns and safeguarding the dignity of the medical profession.

As the five-year term progresses, KMPDU remains committed to pursuing practical solutions to the challenges facing doctors and strengthening the collective voice of the profession.

Our commitment is clear: to strengthen the Union, protect doctors’ rights and welfare, and deliver results for our members. No doctor should be left behind.
