Dr. David Mundia Kahura

Dr. David Mundia is the national deputy chairman of the Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU), the premier doctors’ union in Kenya. He was elected to this position in 2022, after serving as a branch leader since 2020.

Dr. Mundia supports the national chairman and the secretary general in representing the interests of over 10,000 doctors in Kenya. He also oversees the activities of the various branches and committees of the union.

Dr. Mundia is passionate about improving the working conditions and remuneration of doctors in both public and private sectors, enhancing the quality and accessibility of health care services for all Kenyans, advocating for universal health coverage and health financing reforms, promoting professional development and training opportunities for doctors, and strengthening the collaboration and partnership between KMPDU and other stakeholders in the health sector.

Dr. Mundia is a medical doctor with a wealth of experience and expertise in various fields of medicine. He is currently based in Nairobi, Kenya.
