Dr. Davji Bhimji Atellah

Dr. Davji Atellah is the current secretary general of the Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU), the premier doctor’s union in Kenya that aims to unite, represent and protect doctors of all cadres and qualifications. He is also a clinical pharmacist and a medical law and ethics expert.

Dr. Atellah has been a vocal and influential leader in the health sector, advocating for the rights and welfare of doctors and other health workers in Kenya. He has led several strikes, demonstrations and negotiations with the government and other stakeholders to address the issues of salary delays, promotions, transfers, working conditions, personal protective equipment, insurance, compensation for doctors, among other issues.

Dr. Atellah is passionate about improving the quality and accessibility of health care in Kenya. He has participated in various health policy formulation, implementation and evaluation processes to ensure that the health sector is responsive to the needs and challenges of Kenyans. He has also been involved in various research projects, publications and trainings on clinical pharmacology, medical law and ethics.
