Dr. Davji Bhimji Atellah is the current Secretary General of the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU), committed to advancing the rights and welfare of healthcare professionals across Kenya. A distinguished clinical pharmacist and an expert in medical law and ethics, Dr. Atellah brings a unique blend of scientific expertise and legal insight to the union’s leadership.
In his role at KMPDU, Dr. Atellah has been instrumental in spearheading initiatives that address critical issues, from salary delays and promotions to working conditions and access to essential personal protective equipment. His leadership during strikes, demonstrations, and high-stakes negotiations with government and industry stakeholders has paved the way for transparent and accountable reforms that have benefitted doctors and health workers alike.
Dr. Atellah is deeply passionate about improving the quality and accessibility of healthcare in Kenya.
