Medical students drawn from Kenyan universities have made good their threats to accompany doctors and KMPDU officials to jail should the court decide to send them behind bars. The courts had given the doctors up to Thursday to complete negotiations with the government and end the one month long strike or face a 3 month jail term. Both the government and the doctors have failed to agree on a proper way to help end the health crisis. The government offered 20% salary increment which the doctors hurriedly declined. University lecturers under UNTESU and UASU have also joined doctors in demanding for the honor of Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between them and the government which was arrived at in 2013.
