Dr. Davji, the Secretary General of the KMPDU, is thrilled to attend the 112th #ILC2024 in Geneva, representing Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacist and Dentists’ Union ,Central Organization of Trade Unions – COTU –Kenya, and PSI – Public Services International. At this global forum, leaders are addressing critical issues such as protection against biological hazards and ensuring decent work in the care economy.
Earlier, it was a privilege for him to speak on the dire need to defend #FreedomOfAssociation in Belarus. For over 20 years, the Belarusian government has failed to honor its international commitments, dissolving independent trade unions and persecuting activists.
As a representative of Kenyan workers, Dr. Davji emphasized the importance of standing in solidarity with our Belarusian brothers and sisters. Defending workers’ rights everywhere strengthens the global labor movement, including in Kenya. Implementing International Labour Organization resolutions to hold violators accountable is essential for upholding ILO principles, protecting workers’ rights, and ensuring fair treatment for all.
