Dr. Moses Ndiritu

Dr. Moses Ndiritu is a medical practitioner, family physician, and epidemiologist with experience in clinical care, public health, health systems strengthening, digital health systems, quality improvement, and institutional development.

His professional work has involved frontline service delivery, development of health information systems, implementation of quality improvement initiatives, structured documentation, stakeholder engagement, and support for accountable decision-making within healthcare institutions. These experiences have strengthened his appreciation of governance, institutional continuity, risk management, and prudent stewardship of shared resources.

Dr. Ndiritu offers himself for the position of KMPDU Trustee with a clear understanding that this is a fiduciary office. A Trustee must act with integrity, independence, restraint, and sober judgment in protecting Union assets and ensuring that they are managed in the best interests of the membership.

If elected, he will support transparent management of Union property and resources, proper documentation of trustee decisions, prudent oversight of assets, and stronger accountability in the stewardship of member-owned property. He believes KMPDU requires trustees who understand that Union resources are held in trust, and must therefore be protected with seriousness, fairness, and foresight for both current and future members.

Dr. Malindi Chao

Dr. Malindi Chao is a distinguished Diagnostic Radiologist and Healthcare Leader with years of clinical expertise and a formidable record in workforce advocacy.

Malindi’s leadership is defined by high-stakes negotiation and systemic reform. As Branch Secretary of the KMPDU (Nairobi), she successfully negotiated Reconition Agreements and Collective Bargaining Agreements that secured permanent contracts and harmonized salaries for over 430 healthcare workers at major referral institutions. Her ability to navigate complex legal frameworks bolstered by her training through the Global Labour Leadership Initiative ensures she can safeguard union assets while advancing member welfare.

Beyond advocacy, Dr. Malindi is a dedicated mentor and strategist who co-developed national diagnostic curricula for Kenya’s TB program. With a Master of Medicine in Diagnostic Radiology and international governance experience via the Wells Mountain Initiative, she offers a rare blend of clinical excellence and seasoned organizational oversight.

Currently serving as a Board Director at the Kenya Medical Association SACCO, she has championed governance, transparency, and financial sustainability, demonstrating the fiscal responsibility essential for a Union Trustee.

Dr. Frank Okada

I am Dr. Frank Okada Nyakagwa, an ophthalmologist currently serving in Nyamira County, with a strong commitment to quality healthcare, professional integrity, and service to the medical fraternity. I am passionate about strengthening healthcare systems and advocating for the welfare, unity, and professional dignity of healthcare workers across Kenya.

Throughout my medical career, I have remained dedicated to patient-centered care, ethical leadership, and continuous professional growth. My interest in union leadership is guided by the belief that strong and accountable institutions are essential in advancing the interests of medical professionals and improving healthcare delivery in the country.

As a nominee for the position of Trustee of the, I aspire to contribute towards safeguarding the union’s vision, strengthening institutional accountability, and supporting sustainable growth for present and future members. I value teamwork, transparency, and constructive engagement in addressing challenges facing the medical profession.

Dr. Kizito Asava Shisanya

Consultant Surgeon >26 years of experience in clinical practice. Academic & Administrative Head of Department of Surgery Kenyatta University. Member of School management and Kenyatta University Senate. Chief Auditor Kenyatta University; School of Medicine 2026. Board of Directors Maseno School Old Boys Association Benevolent Fund. Over 20 years’ experience inboard leadership, organizational governance, oversight and funds management as treasurer, council member and board chair.

1. Chair Legal /Constitution Review Committees.
2. Coordinated KMPDU Mobile App development and roll out.
3. Chaired KMPDU National Strike Management Committee, 2024. Lead negotiator with Ministry of Labour Conciliator, Whole of Nation Approach (WONA), MOH & COG.

Collins Omollo

Collins Omollo is a dynamic and governance-oriented health professional with over a decade of experience in public health leadership, institutional governance, and strategic health systems management. With a strong background in pharmacy, public health, leadership, and policy advocacy, he has consistently demonstrated a commitment to accountability, transparency, and sustainable healthcare reform.

Collins has played a key role in strengthening health systems, improving resource stewardship, and advancing policy-driven healthcare solutions. His extensive leadership experience is complemented by active involvement in professional and union governance, including service on the Legal Affairs Committee (2021-2026) and Constitution Review Committee (2024-2025) of the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU).

Collins is also a passionate advocate for healthcare workers’ welfare and institutional accountability, having successfully contributed to high-level policy petitions and governance discussions at both county (For KMPDU Nyanza & Nairobi branches) and national levels. Currently serving as County Operations Manager at Social Health Authority, where I direct end-to-end operations including member registration, claims processing, fraud prevention, and health coverage expansion aligned with national policy. I’m currently a candidate for MSc health economics and policy(UON). My career progression demonstrates hands-on leadership: as Sub-County Pharmacist and Malaria Coordinator (Mandera North), I managed pharmaceutical operations across 21 facilities, implemented antibiotic stewardship programs, and optimized supply chains. Previously, as Pharmacist-in-Charge at Rhamu Sub-County Hospital, I led clinical services, inventory management, and patient education for a 120-bed referral facility. Certified expert in QMS/CAPA systems, GDP/ GMP compliance, and regulatory dossier preparation for EU/East African markets. I thrive on the technical challenges of clinical work, but my ‘why’ is rooted in unionism and systemic improvement. I don’t just build better smiles; I fight for the systems that protect them.

Dr. Benard Wambulwa

Dr. Wambulwa is an Infectious Disease Pharmacist and Clinical Research Scientist with over 16 years working experience in the health sector in Kenya. He is a Holder of Bachelor of Pharmacy and Master of Science in Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases degrees from The UON as well as a Diploma in Management. He is also a UK-ALF-A Leadership Fellow.

He has worked in Kenyan Hospitals as a Pharmacist with both County and National governments, transitioning to being a Member of the Kakamega County Health Management Team (CHMT) where he served as County Pharmacist for 5 years.

He also served as KMPDU Western Branch Treasurer for a period of 8years from 2013 to 2020. At the UON he was the Chairman of the University of Nairobi Pharmacy Students Association (NUPSA 2008-2009).

Dr. Darwin Ambuka

Dr. Darwin Ambuka is an orthopedic surgeon, trade union leader, and dedicated advocate for the welfare and professional advancement of Doctors in Kenya. He has previously served as Chair of the North Rift Branch of the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) and as Vice Chair at branch level, positions through which he represented members both in the National Executive Committee and the Branch Executive Committee.

Throughout his leadership journey, Dr. Ambuka has championed unity, fairness, professional dignity, and improved working conditions for healthcare workers. He is widely recognized for his commitment to principled leadership, accountability, and service to members at both branch and national levels.

As a candidate for the position of Trustee, Dr. Ambuka seeks to bring experience, integrity, and a strong understanding of union governance to safeguard the interests, values, and future of KMPDU.
