We have officially written to Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale at the Ministry of Health, demanding the immediate recall of medical interns posted to Kiambu County.
We cannot allow young doctors to be deployed into unsafe, hostile, and dysfunctional work environments. Kiambu has consistently failed to meet even the most basic standards for healthcare provision. There are not enough doctors, no reliable drugs supply, inhumane working conditions, and an increasingly hostile attitude toward health workers.
Posting our interns into such chaos is not only irresponsible, it’s dangerous.
Until Kiambu County addresses these failures and guarantees a safe, supportive, and professional working environment, we have urged the Ministry of Health to immediately pull out our intern members.
This is about safety, dignity, and protecting the future of our profession.
If our call continues to be ignored, we are ready to escalate.
