KMPDU AT THE 52ND KMA ANNUAL CONFERENCE – KISII COUNTY

KMPDU attended the just-concluded 52nd Kenya Medical Association (KMA) Annual Conference held in Kisii County, Kenya. While KMA serves as the umbrella professional body promoting quality medical practice, KMPDU’s sole mandate remains safeguarding the welfare and rights of doctors across the country.

The KMPDU Secretary General, Dr. Davji Bhimji Atellah, was ably represented by the KMPDU Nyanza Branch Chairman, Dr. Steve Onyango Ndonga, during the three-day event. KMPDU emphasized the critical role of union organizing and industrial actions, even as our professional associations advocate for policy reforms. This multi-pronged approach ensures that every level of the medical profession remains engaged in healthcare discourse while maintaining unity of purpose.

KMPDU also announced an accelerated campaign to mobilize and organize doctors within the private sector, embracing the spirit of “Leaving No One Behind.” Efforts have already begun at Avenue Hospitals, Nairobi Hospital, and AAR facilities in Nairobi, Eldoret, and Kisumu. This initiative seeks to confront historical and ongoing challenges across both public and private sectors. Moving forward, a synergistic collaboration between KMPDU and KMA is being explored to streamline and strengthen Kenya’s healthcare space for the benefit of both doctors and patients.

We thank the KMA leadership and membership for a splendid conference hosted in our county, Kisii.

Mungu mbele.
United we bargain, divided we beg.

Dr. Onyango Ndonga
KMPDU Nyanza Branch Chairman
