NAIROBI: June 30, 2025
Today marks a landmark moment in Kenya’s healthcare history, a day that will be remembered for generations to come. For the first time ever, over 6,000 healthcare workers, including more than 2,000 medical doctor interns, have been officially posted for internship across the country.
This unprecedented achievement represents a tremendous leap forward for the future of public healthcare in Kenya.

From relentless petitions to peaceful demonstrations, we have raised our voices, marched in solidarity, and stood firm in our demand for the posting of interns and fair remuneration in line with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Today’s announcement is a direct result of that united effort.
Leadership That Delivered
We commend Hon. Aden Duale, Cabinet Secretary for Health, for honouring the agreements of April 10, 2025. His commitment to ensuring fair employment and a motivated health workforce is a beacon of leadership in the sector.
We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency, President William Samoei Ruto, whose decisive leadership and support for this initiative have made this historic milestone a reality.
