At KMPDU, we have always maintained that healthcare extends far beyond the doctor, it touches every Kenyan. As custodians of workplace dignity, fair labour practices, and the pursuit of universal healthcare, we understand that the conditions under which doctors work are inseparable from the quality of care patients receive.
A doctor’s working environment directly influences patient outcomes. Long shifts, chronic understaffing, overcrowded wards, and shortages of essential supplies do not only burden healthcare professionals, they affect the safety, timeliness, and quality of care delivered to every patient who walks through our hospital doors.
Every day, doctors and patients meet not as opposing sides, but as people navigating the same healthcare system and the same human realities. When doctors are supported, respected, and equipped to do their work, patients benefit through better care, better outcomes, and a stronger health system.
For KMPDU, advocating for the welfare of doctors has never been about doctors alone. It is about building a healthcare system where those who provide care can do so with dignity, and where every Kenyan can receive the quality healthcare they deserve.
