On 19th April 2023, we stood in solidarity with the healthcare workers in Kisumu who are bravely standing up for their rights. These workers are the backbone of our healthcare system and it is unacceptable that they are being forced to go on strike in order to receive the wages that they are owed.
We must recognize the critical role that healthcare workers play in our communities and ensure that they are adequately supported and remunerated. Fair wages and proper compensation are not just a matter of basic decency, but are essential to retaining and attracting skilled healthcare workers, and to ensuring the quality of healthcare that we all depend on.
We call on the government to take immediate action to address the concerns of Kisumu healthcare workers, and to prioritize the needs of all healthcare workers throughout the country. It is time to recognize the incredible sacrifices and contributions of these essential workers, and to provide them with the support they need and deserve.
