We had the privilege as the National Union Leadership to hold a meeting with Kakamega County Doctors at the Kakamega Golf Hotel. It was disheartening to hear of the unfair employment terms and illegal labor practices that our fellow doctors have been subjected to, including delayed promotions and non-remittance of statutory deductions.
Thankfully, we were able to meet with the Governor and his Deputy, who listened attentively to our concerns and pledged to address them within the next few days. We are hopeful for a favorable outcome, but if necessary, we stand ready to reconvene and consider all available options, including withdrawal of our skills.
Doctors play a vital role in our communities and deserve fair treatment and compensation for their hard work and dedication. We urge the authorities to take swift and decisive action to ensure that the rights of Kakamega County Doctors are upheld.
